A Penny for Your Thoughts

Journaling is a time honored tradition that allows the writer to record his or her most secret and sacred thoughts, however, it has also become useful in other applications. The explosive popularity of gardening has reincarnated the journal into a natural extension of how we approach the way we plan and maintain our gardens. Despite technological advances, there is something innately organic about putting pen to paper and contemplating the future of our landscape endeavors.
What better way to know exactly when to expect to see our dogwood trees bloom or to know when to prune our crape myrtles than reading from an entry from last year? It allows us to chronicle every plant’s bloom time, the loss of our favorite plants and the plan for its eventual replacement, to draw diagrams of what we hope our garden could be and to just wax poetic about how gardening brings you closer to nature.
Starting this Spring, treat yourself to a beautifully bound journal that will be your guide through this journey called Gardening. Whether you are a novice or a master gardener, there are always lessons to be learned when toiling the earth, what a shame it would be not to create a written road map along the way.

Great idea! As you know I am a newbie, so I am not aware of what blooms when. I will try to do that.
